Spawning products have been used by fish farmers for
decades. They have been, and remain, one of the most important tools that are used in the
successful raising of fish.
Syndel's introduction of Ovaprim in 1987 marked a
landmark in improving the ease of application and reliability of the product throughout
the world. The introduction of Ovaplant in 1997 extends the usefulness of induced
spawning to many more difficult to breed species.
Both Ovaprim and Ovaplant work to:
- Synchronize spawning dates to a predictable and defined
period
- Compress the spawning season, no more waiting for late
spawning fish
- Overcome stress inhibition in males and females to induce
natural spawning
- Increase milt production and extend the spermiation period
- Advance spawning
Note: Note: Spawning
programs vary by species and production goals. Treated fish must be closely monitored for
ovulation and spermiation.
