Syndel and Alpharma, the best vaccines are back!
December 14th, 2001
Syndel International is pleased to announce the approval in Canada of
Alpharma’s ALPHAJECT 4000 vaccine for
use in salmonids. Dr. Jim Brackett (General Manager, Syndel
International) says: “We
are extremely pleased to offer Alpharma’s new vaccine to the Canadian
Aquaculture industry. This
important new vaccine complements our other approved products for our
customers and helps us to support our customers’ profitability.”
ALPHAJECT
4000 represents the “next generation” of oil-based
vaccines and is the culmination of years of research.
The new vaccine provides unsurpassed protection against
furunculosis (Aeromonas salmonicida), Vibriosis (Vibrio anguillarum serotype I and II) and cold water Vibriosis
(Hitra,
Vibrio salmonicida). The new
adjuvant system also helps to reduce side effects such as adhesions and
melanisations.
Alpharma employs its vast experience in manufacturing and distribution
to provide vaccines around the world “The Canadian approval is
important, and Alpharma can now offer fish vaccines in all the important
salmon and trout markets and is better equipped to service global
aquaculture players' needs," said Alpharma Marketing Director Jan Oppen
Berntsen. More fish have been vaccinated with Alpharma vaccines than
all other fish vaccines combined.
