Syndel and Alpharma,
New dose form for ALPHA JECT 4000 vaccine

July 23, 2003

Syndel International Inc and Alpharma Aquatic Products are pleased to announce the Canadian approval and availability of ALPHA JECT 4000 in a new 0.1ml dose form. The vaccine provides unsurpassed protection against furunculosis (Aeromonas salmonicida), Vibriosis (Vibrio anguillarum serotype I and II) and cold water Vibriosis (Hitra, Vibrio salmonicida). The vaccine is manufactured in Norway by Alpharma and distributed in Canada by Syndel.

Alpha Ject 4000 - 0.1 ml dose form

The product comes in a new 500 ml bag that has several features that make it easy to use. Paul Casey from Syndel states: "The smaller bag size means each bag is used faster and consequently the likelihood of contaminating an open bag is reduced. We expect better vaccination outcomes with this new bag and dose form".

The move to a 0.1 ml dose form comes as a response to customers who wish to vaccinate smaller and smaller fish. The smaller dose form still provides unparalleled protection and is possible with Alpharma’s new production technologies. Says Alpharma’s George Kohan: "Investment in R&D has paid off, this product is the leading edge in traditional vaccine technology and is a culmination of years of experience in the manufacturing of fish vaccines. People have trusted Alpharma for years and this product proves that quality will always be the top priority for any Alpharma products"

Syndel inventories large quantities of the vaccine in its Vancouver warehouse allowing quick distribution to anywhere in Canada. For more information and pricing contact Syndel International 1-800-663-2282, www.syndel.com
