As a result of a ruling by Health Canada that using Ovadine for fish egg disinfection is an unapproved drug use.  This ruling would apply to the use of any product for fish egg disinfection, until there is an approved drug for this application.  This means that any product used as a fish egg disinfectant must be under a veterinarians direction and with an Emergency Drug Release from Health Canada.  Ovadine used as a sanitizer is not covered by this ruling, but we are required to obtain from the user a signed certification that the product is being used as a sanitizer.
