DISINFECTION MAT

Can be used anywhere shoes and boots have to be disinfected before going into a building, gateway, room, etc.

What it is:

The DISINFECTION MAT  is unique.  Designed to disinfect your boots or shoes, before you go into a controlled area.

DISINFECTION MAT consists of a very tough textile material, inside which is a special absorbent material. The sides and bottom are sealed to prevent leakage. The mat holds 12 litres (2.65 imperial gallons) of disinfectant. Very little solid matter will penetrate the mat's surface, so there is little chance of neutralization of the disinfectant.

The DISINFECTANT MAT is 33" (84 cm) x 33" (84 cm) x 1¼"(  3.2 cm) deep.  It is sealed on the sides and bottom so that the disinfectant solution will not leak out.   

What it does:

An unique mat for disinfecting your boots and shoes before entering a building. When standing on the mat, hydraulic pressure is created causing the disinfectant to rise up around boots and shoes.

How to use:

Place the mat just outside the building, preferably where there is an overhanging roof, or just inside the building (especially in winter time).  Disinfectant is poured into the mat with a bucket or watering can.  When standing on the mat, hydraulic pressure is created, causing the disinfectant to well up around your boots.  Easily washed off, drained and filled as required.

Disinfectant:

Use VIRKON at 1% - 2% solution or other disinfectants (do not use iodine, chlorine or similar type disinfectants) that will be effective against known organisms. Using several disinfectants is a good idea to ensure no resistance build-up of organisms.

Cleaning/Refilling:

The mat is easily cleaned by hosing it off. It is important to drain the mat by hanging it over a rail, or if hanging up, be sure to get a good grip on the mat and the material inside. Otherwise, the interior material could fall down inside the mat cover. Cleaning and refilling can be done every day if used by many people, or left down for several days, depending on use.
